Proud Supporters of a Takapuna Wharf

From the late 1800's through to the 1900's, Takapuna had a magnificent wharf on the current site of the boat ramp. It was well served by ferries and pleasure craft, with thousands of Aucklanders and tourists flocking over to enjoy Takapuna Beach and Lake Pupuke. 100 years later it is a great shame that we no longer have a Takapuna Wharf.....but we could again.....and we could re-open Takapuna Beach to the Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf.
